Christa Joy Spaeth is a devoted wife, mother, and passionate follower of Jesus who understands the beautiful chaos of raising a family while trying to stay anchored in faith. With a deep love for prayer and the Word of God, she created this journal to help busy moms connect with the Lord in meaningful, manageable ways—no matter how full the day gets. Through her podcast Praying Daily and her devotional writing, she encourages women to pursue God’s presence with confidence, joy, and authenticity. Her mission is to help moms cultivate a thriving prayer life, experience daily renewal, and walk in the peace and power of God’s promises. Christa is greatly enjoying going back to her roots of teaching! As a dietitian and foodie, she loves to share her passion for simple cooking and wholesome living.

I’m a mom of two young men, a registered dietitian with a love for fresh milled bread, and gardening, and someone who believes that food, faith, and family are deeply connected. Most days you’ll find me in the kitchen with flour on my shirt, sharing laughs and recipes with my family. My kitchen is usually a little messy! As a dietitian, I’m passionate about real food and simple meals that bring people together but as a mom, I know how hard it can be to slow down and spend time with the Lord. It’s your permission to breathe, connect with Jesus in the middle of the sometimes-messy chaos, and remember that your prayers don’t have to be perfect or long. You’ll find quick prayers for hectic mornings, space to scribble your thoughts while the kids nap (or don’t!), and even a few “praise break” prompts for when the laundry is endless. Interview with the Author

What is your favorite hymn and why?

My favorite hymn is “Amazing Grace.” Every time I hear this song or sing this song I cry as I am reminded of the Lord’s great grace for me. I love that the author of the song John Newton wrote this out of his own personal experience of grace. He truly knew that he once was lost and now he is found by the Lord! What a wonderful testimony!

What is your favorite verse and why?

With one son in the military and another son away at college, I often read aloud Psalm 91 which is about God’s great protection. I particularly like verse 4 and pray this over my children.

“He will cover you with his feathers.

He will shelter you with his wings.

His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”

What is one thing readers would be surprised to learn about you?

In 2022, I took a bold step of faith and left my long-standing career as a Registered Dietitian at a food manufacturing company. It wasn’t an easy step, but it was one that led me closer to the purpose God had for me. My journey has taken me from writing two books, being a host of two podcasts, and currently I am going back to my roots of teaching! I love to share my passion for simple cooking and nutritious living.

Outside of the Bible, what is the one book or author that has had the biggest influence on you?

Other than the Bible, the book “The Hiding Place” by Corrie Ten Boom has had the biggest influence on my life. I have read this book numerous times and I am always amazed and in awe of how Corrie and her family had faith no matter how difficult the situation is. While faced with possibility of death daily, Corrie and her sister Betsie praised God, even when beaten or infested with fleas. Their story inspires me that quiet, yet bold faith makes an impact on so many people.

What is one question you would like readers to ask you? What would be your answer?

Can you share a time when God answered a prayer you prayed for your child?
When my youngest son was born, I knew within days that he had health challenges. At just four months, the doctors diagnosed him with autism. I was devastated. We received this information on a Friday; my husband and I reached out to so many people to pray for healing for my son. On Monday, we took him back to the same doctor, and she was amazed at the change in his response to stimuli. She said she made a mistake in her diagnosis. We knew she didn’t make a mistake; God performed a supernatural miracle!
