What helps you to write? Do you eat snacks or listen to music?

Usually, I have a cat and a dog lying on or next to me. Sometimes they just look at me. Sometimes they sleep and dream. I often wonder what they dream of, why they dream, and how God designed them with that ability.

Sitting there, I find myself reflecting on the design of creation. That reflection pushes me toward greater creativity. Instead of noise or distraction, I draw inspiration from observing the detail and intentional design woven into everything around me.

That mindset has shaped the writing of Frogman Puck Origins, Frogman Puck: Resurgent, and the upcoming Frogman Puck: Reckoning. The series is built around the idea that we are not accidents, but intentionally designed. Writing Christian action adventure and illustrated novels rooted in Biblical truth requires stillness. The quiet helps me think clearly about faith, character, technology, and how those elements work together in a grounded Christian sci-fi world.

If you could travel back in time, what time period would you go to?

I think about this often. As an observer, witnessing the moment of creation or standing at the cross when Jesus declared, “It is finished,” would be beyond comparison.

If I could walk, live, eat, and interact within a time period, I would still choose the earthly ministry of Christ. To see Him teach, perform miracles, and speak with authority and compassion would be the greatest experience imaginable.

The themes in the Frogman Puck series, published through MJChanacaPublishing, flow from that foundation. Whether writing Christian superhero fiction or a clean adventure series for families, everything traces back to Christ’s authority, sacrifice, and design for mankind. What is your favorite book and why?

Beyond the Bible, which is filled with Truth and miraculous events, The Chronicles of Narnia stand out. It captures the spirit of adventure and reflects the parallel of creation and redemption through childlike faith. Scripture tells us to become like children in our trust, and Narnia embodies that sense of wonder.

A close second is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. There is something about venturing into another world, exploring the unknown depths, and discovering hidden mysteries that stirs something inside us. I believe we all long for that kind of adventure.

That same longing influenced Frogman Puck Origins and Resurgent. The underwater exploration, hidden technology, and unseen realms reflect that sense of mystery, while keeping the story grounded in a Christian worldview. Deep within us is a desire for something extraordinary, something greater, something eternal. Good adventure stories, especially Christian science fiction and illustrated novels for young readers, should awaken that without losing truth.

What inspired you to write this book?

In writing the Frogman Puck series, beginning with Frogman Puck Origins, I tried to think of epic Christian superheroes and could not name any that truly captured that space. I love action, adventure, and science fiction. Most superheroes gain their abilities through accidents, mutations, alien origins, or random events.

Why do we not have bold, grounded Christian heroes?

I wanted to create characters whose strength grows from discipline, design, teamwork, and faith. I wove together my interests, hobbies, career experiences, SCUBA diving, and memories to build heroes who are exciting to read about and powerful in action, while rooted in Biblical truth.

The world of Frogman Puck, including Resurgent and the upcoming Reckoning, reflects the source of ultimate power in placing your trust in Christ. The characters follow God’s design for mankind, created in His image. They use their skills and abilities and apply the order found in creation to develop technology that assists them in their mission.

Instead of entertainment shaped by shifting cultural values, this Christian action-adventure series is anchored in Biblical principles. Instead of the reader believing they are the product of randomness, they see that they were designed for a purpose.

Readers can step into a clean, family-friendly sci-fi series rooted in familiar towns, underwater exploration, and real-world discipline. The abilities in this story are not mutations. They are faith, character, courage, teamwork, and reliance on the Word of God.
