About the Author

An award-winning author, June Foster is a retired teacher with a BA in Education and a MA in counseling. June began writing Christian romance in 2010 as she and her husband traveled the US in their RV. Her adventures provide a rich source of information for her novels. She brags about visiting a location before it becomes the setting in her next book. To date, June has written over thirty contemporary romance and romantic suspense novels and novellas. June uses her training in counseling and her Christian beliefs in creating characters who encounter real-life difficulties yet live victorious lives. She’s published with Winged Publications. June is active in her church and her ladies’ fellowship group. She enjoys writing devotionals as well as fiction. She frequently attends writers’ conferences such as Blue Lake Writers’ Conference and Florida Christian Writers Conference. What is your favorite hymn and why?

My favorite hymn is “It is Well with My Soul.” The author of the song speaks about peace which is a goal I’d like to achieve in my life. I’d love to relax and take every problem and hardship knowing the Lord is truly in control. I love where the song writer speaks of our sins—that they are nailed to the cross, and we bare them no more. But the words which describe the second coming of Christ bring me chills and tears every single time.

Share with me a few of your favorite things.

Here is a list of some of my favorite things, not necessarily in this order. Dogs, popcorn and watching a movie, conversations with my husband and daughters, reading the Word while sipping on a cup of coffee, long conversations with the Lord, writing long scenes in my books, and Christmas morning with family.

Do you read books in this genre? If so, who do you like to read?

Before I started writing, I didn’t read romance or romantic suspense novels. After I began my writing journey, that’s about all I read. Here’s a list of some of my favorite authors in this genre: Laurel Blount, Martha Rogers, though she’s with the Lord, Bonita McCoy, Fay Lamb, and Joi Copeland.

What is your favorite book and why?

The Bible is my most favorite book. Without it, I’d be lost. The Bible contains all the wisdom I need to navigate my life. I believe that without it, I’d be like a blind man stumbling in the dark with no one to help me. I could go on answering the “why” part of this question in volumes. Truly, it is the Word of God.

What is one thing readers would be surprised to learn about you?

Readers may be surprised to know that my great grandfather was a Catholic priest. Some people may say, so what. But think about it for a moment. If he was my ancestor and priests don’t get married, how did that happen? Smile. He quit the priesthood when he married my great grandmother. In fact, I wrote a book based on their story: Dreams Deferred.
