More from J.J.
The Power of the Reframe because I know what it feels like to be stuck in the weight of your past, unsure how to move forward. For years, I wrestled with grief, emotional pain, and cycles I couldn’t seem to break. But through God’s Word and the practice of reframing, I discovered that the same moments that once felt like breaking points could actually become turning points. This book is my heart on paper—a guide for anyone ready to renew their mind, take ownership of their healing, and step into God’s purpose with freedom. It’s filled with encouragement, biblical truth, and practical exercises that will help you not just survive what you’ve walked through, but actually be transformed by it.Interview with the Author
1) Why do you think the topic of your book is important?
Because most people are living from unhealed places and don’t even realize it. We respond, react, and make decisions based on old wounds, unseen beliefs, and emotional patterns we never had language for. The Power of the Reframe is important because it gives people the tools to understand why they are the way they are—and how to partner with God to shift it. Healing isn’t accidental; it’s intentional. And reframing is the doorway to that intention.
2) Why do you think this topic is needed?
This topic is needed because people are hurting silently. We’re in a time where many know something is off within them, but they don’t know what it is or how to address it. Reframing helps bridge the gap between the emotional, the spiritual, and the practical. It helps people see their experiences through truth instead of trauma. And right now, more than ever, people need that clarity, that language, and that hope.
3) What did you learn from writing this book?
Writing this book taught me how to name things I had carried for years without understanding. It showed me how much clarity God gives when you’re willing to confront the truth. I learned that healing isn’t just about the big moments—it’s about acknowledging the small patterns, the spiritual “baby steps,” and the quiet hurts that shape us. I also learned that obedience in writing can become a form of healing all by itself.
4) Outside of the Bible, what is the one book or author that has had the biggest influence on you?
One of the books that has had the biggest impact on me is actually a tie between The Four Agreements and Atomic Habits—for two very different reasons.
The Four Agreements introduced me to the power of boundaries, emotional detachment, and letting things go. It helped me see that peace is often a choice, and that I don’t have to carry everything people project or expect. That book shifted how I respond to others and how I hold myself.
On the other hand, Atomic Habits became my permission to grow. It taught me that greatness doesn’t come from intensity—it comes from consistency. That changed everything for me. The idea that small, steady steps could transform my entire life gave me the confidence to keep showing up, even on the days I didn’t feel powerful.
Both books shaped different parts of me, which is why it’s impossible to choose just one.
5) What is one question you would like readers to ask you? What would be your answer?
Question: “What made you finally choose to heal?”
Answer: I chose to heal because I realized no one was coming to save me but God—and I owed myself the love of not staying the same. My healing wasn’t just for me; it was for my children, their future, and the generational patterns I refused to pass down. Healing became the most loving decision I could make for myself and the people connected to me.
