About the Author
Scott Meinke is a business leader, writer, and ministry founder with decades of experience navigating faith in the workplace. After a long career in the insurance industry, Scott began writing stories that explore integrity, ambition, and what it means to follow Christ when success and conviction collide. The White Stone is his first novel – born out of real-world experience and shaped by Scripture – examining the quiet decisions that define character long before they define careers.

- What does success as an author look like to you?
Success for me isn’t measured in sales as much as it is in impact. If the book encourages someone to examine their faith, challenges them to live with greater integrity, or helps them navigate the tension between belief and the world they work in—then it’s doing what I hoped it would do.
Beyond that, success also means supporting something bigger than the book itself. All proceeds go toward Did Over Should Ministries and the work being done in Vietnam, so every reader becomes part of that mission.
- Which character did you connect to best in this book?
I connected most with Luke—who later becomes Victor—because his journey reflects so much of my own. The tension between ambition and faith, success and compromise, is something I’ve personally wrestled with.
His story isn’t just fictional—it’s rooted in real experiences, real questions, and real growth over time.
- Which part of the book was the most difficult to write?
The most difficult part to write was the moment of surrender—when Luke gives his life fully to Christ. That scene reflects a deeply personal experience for me and my wife, and putting something that meaningful into words felt almost impossible.
I’m not sure it can ever be fully captured on a page, but my hope is that readers can still feel the weight and the transformation in that moment.
- What inspired this book?
The book was inspired by a sermon series on the seven churches in Revelation, specifically the message to Pergamum—a church living in a culture of compromise.
That message hit close to home and caused me to reflect on my own life and career in the insurance industry. I began to ask what it really looks like to live out your faith Monday through Friday, not just on Sunday. That question became the foundation for the story.
- Which author influenced you the most?
One author who influenced me is John Grisham. I’ve always admired how he takes a complex profession like law and turns it into a compelling story.
At some point, I had a simple thought: if I can be drawn into stories about lawyers, why couldn’t others be drawn into a story about the insurance world? That idea helped shape the way I approached my own writing.
